Founding of ICP (Inter Chemicals and Plastics) to manufacture automated machines for packaging vinyls / CD’s in transparent shrink wrap. Customers included: Philips – Polygram / Baarn; EMI / Hayes; EMI / Köln; Deutsche Grammophone / Hannover; Teldec / Hamburg.

Studio A Opening

Opening of second studio (Studio A), also equipped with MCI 600 series 36/24 analog console and MCI JH24 multitrack tape machine.

1988

Second SSL Console

Installation of our second Solid State Logic analog console in Studio B, SSL 4040 E series, to replace our MCI 600 series desk.

1991

SSL 4080

Installation of a larger Solid State Logic analog console in Studio A, SSL 4080 E/G series, to replace our SSL 4056 E series which we transferred to studio B. Our SSL 4040 E series from Studio B was sold.

1999

Studio D Opening

Opening of fourth studio (Studio D), originally set up as a media events venue / dance for TV programs.

1975

Packaging for Pink Floyd

ICP worked with album cover art specialists Hypnosis to create an opaque dark blue shrink wrap for the Pink Floyd album “Wish You Were Here”. This was a very special packaging project as the wrapping became part of the cover concept.

1985

Studio C Opening

Opening of third studio (Studio C), equipped with Soundcraft 2400 series analog console and Otari MTR 90 24 track multitrack tape machine.

1988-2003

ICP Cartoons

Creation of cartoons for ICP recording studios by Patrick Regout a Belgian illustrator. Developed the first version of the studio logo.

1994-1997

Residential Facilities Expansion II

ICP continues to expand its residential facilities by acquiring, and completely remodelling, a large factory adjacent to the studio complex (no. 37 ave. Emile de Beco).

2002

Telefunken

Installation of 18 channel all tube Siemens / Telefunken console (originally custom built for Deutsche Grammophone / Hannover in 1959) in Studio D.

1976

New Offices

ICP moves into its current location at 41-43 avenue Emile de Beco. in the early twentieth century the factory was used by the ”dépot du bon pain bruxellois” a bread bakery.

1986

First SSL Console

Installation of our first Solid State Logic analog console in Studio A, SSL 4056 E series, to replace our MCI 600 series desk.

1989

Warehousing Automation

Expansion of the industrial machinery division to warehousing automation for vinyl and compact disc distribution. High speed systems were based on bar code scanning, label printing and mechanical product sorting technology.

1995

Last series of ICP machinery

Last series of ICP machinery before closing the industrial department. The ADS-1 separated CD disks from their original boxes for in-store security.
CDs inserted in envelopes and empty boxes automatically labelled and stacked separately.
